Obtaining the Installation Program

Package installer - a standalone application (Setup.exe) available for download that includes the entire component set for specific software environment.
DVD distribution - the product distribution box includes environment-specific Package installer on DVD for each of the supported software environments. When you install via DVD, you can also customize the specific product components that are installed on your machine, as appropriate for your operating environment.

When talking about Setup.exe, we're actually talking about Microsoft Windows Installer. Windows Installer is an installation and configuration service provided with Windows. The installer service enables customers to provide better corporate deployment and provides a standard format for component management. The installer also enables the advertisement of applications and features according to the operating system.

Preparing for Installation

Before you start installing the software, please review the following information:

Meeting system requirements - make sure that you are installing Holixa Infra Suite on a supported hardware or software configuration.
Review publisher's certificate - make sure publisher's digital certificate (used to sign the installer) is valid.

Running the Installation

Now you're ready to execute the installation procedure:

Customize installation - tailor the installation to your organization's needs and run customized setup.
Installation procedure - once Setup.exe is started, follow the Holixa Infra Suite installation procedure step-by-step.
Application resources - getting to know the installed application resources and folder structure.

Installation Maintenance

Once installed, it is important to know the proper way for maintaining your application installation. Installation maintenance provides following options:

Change installed features - add or remove available package features.
Repair installation - in case of system failures or accidental removal of application components.
Uninstalling application - step-by-step guide on removing existing application from your computer.
Logging application errors - customize the way unhandled application exceptions are dealt with.

To be able to run Infra Suite installer procedure, Windows user needs to have elevated (i.e. administrative) privileges. Otherwise, user needs to log on to a system as a Power User or Administrator to be able to run the installation. Each user has its own set of application settings, which corresponds to Microsoft's general software installation policy. Before you begin installation, make sure all other applications are stopped. If you are reinstalling or upgrading Holixa Infra Suite, make sure that Holixa Infra Suite is not running before you start setup.
