Automating Feature Tasks

Feature tasks main purpose is to automate set of activities over features. Set of ordered tasks is called a job, which can be saved to disk for future use or modification. A job specifies the activities to perform and the parameters for those activities.

• A single task represents an atomic action performed over collection of features (classified or non-classified).
• Multiple tasks can get organized into tasks collection (a job).
• Tasks collection can get de/serialized from and to the stream (i.e. file on disk), for reproduction.
• Tasks in a collection are strictly ordered, and executed one-by-one.
• Each task may posses a feature filter of any complexity.
• Order of tasks execution is important.

Use the Task Editor to create or edit the sequence and parameters for the activities (tasks) in the job. It lets you specify data flows to convert, transform, and integrate spatial data and its associated attribution. Also, using task editor you can open and edit an existing job, create new one, or save it to a disk. Issuing AutoCAD's FTASK command opens task editor palette.
